Traditional Handcrafts Programme accepted students in 2013-2014 Academic year. Traditional arts constitude Turkish culture. Traditional Turkish Arts Department aims to provide creafive students who search, protect and try to improve Traditional values, can make modern desings with original apprsaches and transfer the past to today with their own versiy on.
Traditional Turkish Arts Department will educate students who adopt the art made in the past which is appropriate to current art conception and use the accurate material, pattern and practice data. The young artists who have grown.up here will be masters of traditional art will have the knowledge to built a bridge befween past and future and will contribute to art and aesthetics of the society with thir uniqe work.
There are four workshops in the program:
- Handicraft Practice Workshop
- Ebru Workshop
- Weaving Workshop
- Natural Painting and Felting Workshop
Graduates from Traditional Handicrafts can be employed in libraries, museums, industrial design workshops and in restoration works
